There has been a buzz in the air for the last few weeks at the Hester Hornbrook Academy, while students prepared their job applications, resumes and cover letters for their upcoming Mock Interviews.
With the help of the Local Learning and Employment Networks, City LLEN, Inner Eastern LLEN and Future Connect, we were able to provide students with the opportunity to sit a Mock Interview. 34 students across all campuses participated in an interview in the first Mock Interview event at HHA. There was a combination of staff panels and also online interviews with external people. There were so many students who put in the effort to make the most out of this opportunity, it was incredibly impressive. There were a few star performers that I would like to give a shout out to:
Georgia Morrow, Senior student from Prahran had an extremely impressive interview with Robin from Future Connect who stated, "The only advice I can offer Georgia is do what you did today at an interview and you will be successful in gaining employment in the not to distant future."
Jake Aofa, Intermediate student from the City was ready and dressed to impress. His interviewers described him as "approachable and engaged" and the dedication he showed the task was to be admired.
Ashton Tozer from Sunshine Young Mum's was also interviewed by Robin from Future Connect. She was ready and well prepared for her interview which showed in her thoughtful responses.
Well done to everyone who participated and I look forward to doing this again next year!
